Figure: AILA Translator collaboration architecture
A project manager prepares and assigns work in AILA Studio. AILA Translator then presents only the relevant source passages and tasks to translators, native speakers and audio contributors. Completed work moves through reviewer checks before approved translations and recordings return to the central governed repository. Notifications and permissions connect the stages without exposing contributors to unnecessary administration.
Who this is for
Language communities, research groups and institutions coordinating distributed translation, review and audio contribution.
The problem we help solve
Contributors need a simple workspace for their assigned tasks, while project creation, permissions, source data and final approval must remain centrally governed.
How KCS approaches the work
Work progresses through four connected stages, from clarifying the need to producing a result that can be reviewed and used.
- Prepare the language project, source material, contributors and permissions in AILA Studio.
- Present each contributor only with the assigned passages, audio tasks and necessary context.
- Save progress and route completed work to linguistic and quality review.
- Return approved translations and recordings to the versioned source of truth.
Concrete examples
A native speaker translates sentences and records pronunciation from a phone without navigating administrative screens.
A reviewer compares the source, translation and audio before approving the resource for publication or learning use.
